Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The manuscript is original and has not been published (even in part, for example only the abstract) in other journal or conference proceedings identified by DOI.
- The single file containing the main text, bibliographic references, figure captions, and tables is in Microsoft Word format.
- Bibliographic references are formatted according to the Vancouver style and follow the Instructions to Authors, including each DOI address whenever available.
- Citations of figures and tables are included in the text, not just at the end of the document as appendices.
- The names and affiliations of the authors, and any other data that could allow their identification, are not included in the file with the main text.
- The images should be attached separately (one figure per attachment, possibly subdivided into A, B, C, D, etc.).
- The required supporting documents (Copyright Transfer Agreement, Conflicts of Interest Statement, and Ethical Approval) have already been completed, signed, and scanned to be attached separately.

Copyright Notice
To ensure scientific integrity and originality criteria, we have adopted the following guidelines regarding the submission of case reports that have been previously presented or published:
- Case reports that have already been published in conference proceedings or scientific meeting abstracts may be submitted, provided that this prior publication was not in the form of a full article, including images, discussion, and references. It is essential that the manuscript contains additional information, analyses, or complementary data that justify its originality and contributions to knowledge.
- Case reports that were previously published in theses, dissertations, or preprint platforms may be considered for publication, as long as there is clear information about where and when the content was previously made available.
Note: Submission of case reports that have already been published or presented requires complete transparency from the authors regarding the dissemination history and the Copyright Transfer Aggreement. The Editorial Board of the electronic journal INFECTIONS IN EVIDENCE – Case Reports reserves the right to evaluate each case individually and to request clarifications or supporting documents, if necessary.
Privacy Statement
PRESENTATION
In this document, the term “website” will be used to refer to the website of the INFECTIONS IN EVIDENCE - Case Reports Journal. The terms “we” or “our” relate to the website owners and the Editorial Board. Terms such as “you” or “your” are related to the website user, reader of this document. This document describes how the website works in order to collect, receive, classify, use, access, play, transmit, distribute, process, archive, store, delete, evaluate, control access to your modifications, communication, transfer, broadcast, or extract information.
PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED
Your personal data on the website is under the control of the institution that holds the Journal, the Emílio Ribas Study Centre. Genius Design acts as a data operator, handling your data on the website according to the institution’s instructions. Your personal data is basically information that identifies you, the data holder.
The personal data of the users collected in the register are full name, e-mail, institution, profession, login and password.
For security, all your actions on the system are logged, filing data related to your session, such as Internet Protocol Address (IP) and browser information, as well as web server logs, cookies, and other technologies used by Genius Design for product improvement, security, and troubleshooting.
USE OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED – PROCESSING
Genius Design processes the personal data inserted on the website only to provide our services for registration management. We do not use it for our own purposes.
Your personal data may be used for:
- Sending announcements regarding alerts or moderation posts by managers;
- Sending e-mails about password recovery or confirmation of the request to remove personal data;
- Issuing statistical reports on the use of the website, pages, articles, and tools;
- Sending e-mails about the Journal or related content to the Journal upon your consent to receive newsletters.
The institution responsible for the Journal may use your contact information to send informational e-mails to communicate events, promotions, or products of interest to the target public. Any marketing e-mail sent to you is the responsibility of the Emílio Ribas Study Center, and Genius Design uses it only for data processing on the website.
The website provides ways to obtain your consent to receive e-mail marketing communications. You can edit your registration at any time to revoke your consent to receive newsletters.
SHARING PERSONAL DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES
Your personal data on the website can be accessed by:
- Genius Design employees and contractors whose professional role requires access to your data. Both are subject to confidentiality with legal data protection obligations.
- Genius Design providers of server hosting services, web services, and databases. Any such suppliers are under confidentiality agreements with legal data protection obligations.
- The institution that acts as the “controller” of your personal data through its employees, with access to register management.
Third parties, such as the result of incorporations, corporate aggregation, or any corporate events involving Genius Design. - Competent authorities in the event of regular exercise of rights in judicial, administrative, or arbitral proceedings pursuant to Article 7, VI of Law No 13.709/2018.
SECURITY
Genius Design uses the best in security and development, using privacy in modeling our products by default, as well as encryption in data transfer between client and server, hosting services in internationally recognized companies, Server maintenance in Brazil and the United States, and good security practices at all stages of development, from design to publication.
However, we do not guarantee the security of misuse of the system by third parties who, authorized or otherwise, have in any way obtained access to the access data (login and password).
RIGHTS OF THE HOLDER
From the registration area of the user in the system you may, as provided for in Article 18 of Law 13.709/2018:
- • Change or correct your registration information;
- • Request the recovery of all history of user actions on the system;
- • Revoke consent to receive newsletters (e-mail marketing);
- • Request the deletion of your personal data.
If you ask to delete your data, your identification, name and e-mail, institution, and profession data will be deleted.
DATA RETENTION PERIOD
The retention period will be as long as the institution uses the website. In the event of a breach/termination of the contract, your personal data will be removed from our servers within 60 days and will be converted into a file capable of portability to another vendor.
